PROJECT SUMMARY

GST was called on to assist Los Angeles Community College District with the deployment of iPad kiosks by procuring and assembling the floor-standing enclosures designed to support district-issued iPads across 11 designated locations. By leveraging a piggybackable contract, LACCD was able to streamline procurement and move forward without delay. With GST managing the integration, configuration, and delivery of fully pre-assembled units, the district successfully rolled out a consistent, ready-to-use solution with minimal disruption.

Key Tasks Included:

  • Received and staged all kiosk hardware at GST’s integration facility, inspecting components to ensure they were defect-free and ready for deployment.
  • Assembled floor-standing enclosures and securely installed district-issued iPads, followed by full device configuration, including Wi-Fi setup, Apple ID registration, and Jamf Pro enrollment using credentials provided by LACCD.
  • Applied district-supplied asset tags to each iPad and stand, ensuring accurate placement and documentation.
  • Coordinated and executed delivery to 11 LACCD locations, confirming receipt with on-site contacts and ensuring all units arrived pre-assembled and ready for immediate use.

This project demonstrates how effective partnerships and smart contract strategies can accelerate results without compromising quality. By leveraging an existing cooperative agreement, LACCD was able to streamline procurement and move swiftly into deployment. GST’s integration facility played a key role, allowing us to preassemble, configure, and validate each unit with precision before it ever reached a campus. The successful rollout across 11 locations reflects GST’s ability to deliver end-to-end solutions with consistency, efficiency, and technical excellence, both in-house and in the field.

CHALLENGE

LACCD needed to roll out secure, pre-configured iPad kiosks across 11 campuses and administrative sites with minimal disruption and a short deployment window. The challenge was to ensure consistent setup and delivery across multiple locations while working within the constraints of public procurement and without adding strain to internal IT resources.
