PROJECT SUMMARY

Golden Star Technology (GST) called in to reorganize and optimize Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) cable management for a premier healthcare facility in Southern California . The goal was to improve network infrastructure organization by repatching, re-dressing, and optimizing the use of patch panels and switches.

Key Tasks Included: 

  • Port Mapping: Created detailed port maps linking the switches and patch panels to facilitate seamless re-cabling.
  • Cable Management: Unplugged and systematically replaced existing cables. Repatched and dressed cables according to the new port maps, using hospital-supplied materials.
  • Testing and Validation: Collaborated with the customer’s IT team to verify network connectivity after completing each IDF setup.

The GST team successfully completed the project, delivering a well-organized IDF setup that met the facility’s expectations for functionality and maintainability. By using a fixed price service model, the project was completed within budget, emphasizing cost predictability and customer satisfaction.

The Ronald McDonald House is a charity organization dedicated to providing resources and support to families in need of housing while their children undergo treatment in medical facilities nearby. The Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House has served thousands of families since its opening, offering them the comforts of home away from home.

Using its expertise in Audio-Visual technology, GST successfully installed and configured the appropriate conference and multi-function systems to meet the needs of the Ronald McDonald House.

This project the Ronald McDonald House was responsible for paying for the equipment involved while GST donated labor to complete the project.
